Ashley Elena Lim
Ashley’s journey at ASRJC reflects passion, leadership, and dedication both on and off the stage. Admitted via DSA-JC through the ASR Dance Society, she embraced a rigorous academic combination while making dance a meaningful outlet for self-expression and creativity.
As President of the ASR Dance Society, Ashley fostered team unity, trust, and camaraderie, leading the group in numerous performances including Teachers’ Day, Open House showcases, and the prestigious National Day Parade SG60 concert finale on the Padang. Her leadership was further strengthened through the LeadASR Camp, helping her guide others with flexibility, empathy, and vision.
Balancing academics and CCA responsibilities required careful time management and perseverance. With the support of teachers and teammates, Ashley remained committed to her studies while actively contributing to her CCA, inspiring her peers through mentorship and collaboration. Beyond ASRJC, she continues to demonstrate her commitment to community service through her upcoming internship with Fei Yue under the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC).
Ashley intends to pursue a degree in Econometrics or Economics with a focus on Data Science or Finance, driven by her curiosity about how data and mathematical reasoning shape economies and inform policy.

Elton Bek Wei Jie
A reflective and service-driven student, Elton’s journey at ASRJC was both challenging and deeply fulfilling. Supported by dedicated teachers, peers and family, he grew into an all-rounded individual who consistently sought to contribute meaningfully to the school and wider community. Through setbacks and moments of self-doubt, he learnt the importance of resilience, self-awareness and seeking support—qualities that continue to shape his character beyond college.
Beyond the classroom, Elton demonstrated strong initiative and leadership. Orientation—first as a participant and later as an organising official—became a defining experience that allowed him to express himself authentically while fostering college spirit. His election into the Students’ Council, and subsequently as a House Captain, reflected the trust his peers placed in him. In these roles, he developed key 21st-century competencies such as collaboration, communication and adaptability. These skills were further strengthened through Project Sunsetz, a community initiative he led, where he worked closely with teachers and external organisations to serve beneficiaries beyond the college.
ASRJC also provided Elton with avenues to discover and deepen his academic interests. Having identified Chemistry as a strength since secondary school, he pursued this passion through H3 Chemistry, gaining exposure to advanced concepts, experimental techniques and scientific thinking. With strong teacher mentorship, he also co-initiated a student-led project integrated with the college’s annual iHEART Run, actively promoting it through school platforms and demonstrating initiative and ownership of his learning.
Inspired by meaningful volunteering experiences and a personal encounter
with chronic illness within his family, Elton aspires to pursue Medicine,
driven by a desire to serve others and make a tangible difference in people’s
lives.
Michelle Lam Wan Ting
Michelle’s journey at ASRJC has been shaped by curiosity, determination, and a strong commitment to both learning and community. Describing her experience as a “roller coaster ride,” she embraced challenges with enthusiasm, forming lasting friendships and meaningful memories.
One of her key highlights was serving as a College Ambassador. Despite having no prior dance experience, Michelle dedicated significant time to preparing orientation props and mastering choreography, eventually performing confidently before large audiences. This reflected her willingness to step out of her comfort zone and grow through perseverance.
Her passion for STEM, first sparked in secondary school, deepened through her studies in Chemistry and Physics. She actively pursued learning beyond the classroom, including an online exchange with a school in Lithuania that broadened her global perspective. Her participation in STEAMunity, organised by SUTD, was especially impactful. Over 10 weeks, she developed hands-on skills in 3D CAD modelling, 3D printing, and Arduino coding, applying design thinking to real-world challenges. Her team’s project—a burner filter system with an ash collection box addressing environmental and safety hazards—received media recognition and earned the Trailblazing Solution Award, one of the programme’s top honours.
Balancing academics with intensive projects required strong discipline and prioritisation. With support from her teachers and parents, Michelle managed her commitments effectively, demonstrating resilience throughout.
Beyond academics, she built strong bonds with her peers and values camaraderie. She also gives back by tutoring primary school children from lower-income families, reflecting her heart for service.
Looking ahead, Michelle remains committed to environmental sustainability,
combining STEM and creativity to develop innovative solutions to real-world
challenges.

man, ready to pursue Information Systems or Software Engineering at SMU
and create technological solutions that make a lasting positive impact
on society.
Cruise Tay
Defined by determination and a strong sense of purpose, Cruise Tay’s time
at ASRJC was a journey of growth, reflection, and meaningful contribution.
He describes his experience as a “growing tree”—firmly rooted in the college’s
academic rigour, while extending into new areas of interest that shaped
him beyond the classroom.
A standout chapter of his journey was serving as a College Ambassador Leader for Orientation 2025. Over three months, Cruise worked closely with a team of 41 ambassadors alongside his Vice-Captain, navigating challenges in expectations, morale, and teamwork. This experience shaped his belief in people-centred leadership, showing him that meaningful leadership lies not just in visible outcomes, but in nurturing confidence, authenticity, and growth in others. Seeing his peers become more assured and expressive proved especially rewarding.
Beyond leadership, Cruise contributed to the college through his passion for content creation. Managing social media platforms and producing video content, he was entrusted with creative autonomy to bring projects to life. From a promotional video featuring the Principal to daily storyline videos during Orientation 2025, his work resonated with students and inspired traditions continued by future batches. Teacher mentors provided guidance and reflective feedback, helping Cruise refine his storytelling skills and make thoughtful, intentional creative decisions.
Balancing leadership and academic commitments was not without its challenges, and Cruise faced periods of burnout. Through these experiences, he learnt to pace himself, delegate meaningfully, and empower others—emerging as a more patient, empathetic, and self-aware leader.
Looking ahead, Cruise plans to pursue entrepreneurship, building on his
ASRJC experiences to create value, address real-world challenges, and lead
with purpose.
