Our alumni’s journeys are as diverse and dynamic as ASRJC itself. In this
series, recent graduates reflect on their experiences, sharing personal
stories of identity, challenges, and aspirations. Each perspective adds
to a larger narrative of resilience and growth. Through these stories,
we celebrate their achievements and hope to inspire current students to
pursue their own paths with confidence and determination.
Mohd Thaqif Uzair Bin Fadil

Thaqif has been an active contributor to ASR’s vibrant arts scene, bringing his passion for theatre, leadership, and community to every project he undertakes.
As the student director and actor for Literature Night 2024, he took on the challenge of directing for the first time, seamlessly blending creative vision with technical execution. From curating dramatic acts to managing lighting, props, and staging, Thaqif’s dedication brought the showcase to life, captivating audiences and leaving a lasting impact.
Thaqif’s leadership extended beyond the stage, as he actively fostered camaraderie within his team during Literature Night 2024. His dedication to supporting others was equally evident in his role as a College Ambassador during Orientation 2024, where he warmly welcomed new students and helped them transition smoothly into JC life.
With aspirations to study social science, Thaqif is eager to deepen his
understanding of humanity and global issues. As he prepares for National
Service, he remains committed to lifelong learning, immersing himself in
readings that broaden his perspectives.
Long Yuan En, Andria

With a heart for service and a passion for empowering others, Andria is a shining example of leadership and dedication at ASR. Her journey in the college has not only reinforced her aspiration to become an Occupational Therapist but also shaped her into a compassionate and resilient individual committed to making a difference.
Andria’s interest in Allied Health was solidified during ASR’s Industry Attachment Programme, where she shadowed a Respiratory Therapist. This experience, along with her participation in the Evolution Workshop at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, deepened her love for the sciences and strengthened her resolve to serve the community in meaningful ways.
As Vice-President of the Community Champions Council (CCC), Andria played a key role in planning and executing the inaugural ASR Gives event, where the entire JC1 cohort engaged in service-learning at elderly centres. Beyond this, she took on leadership roles in numerous community projects, constantly challenging herself to step out of her comfort zone, adapt to new situations, and develop resilience. Through her volunteering efforts, she sharpened her interpersonal skills and gained valuable insights into societal needs—aligning her personal values with her career ambitions.
Despite the challenges of balancing academics and leadership commitments, Andria persevered with the unwavering support of her friends, classmates, and tutors. Her determination and drive have shaped her into the well-rounded and compassionate individual she is today.
Now, as she prepares for the next chapter of her journey, Andria looks
forward to working in a SPED school as an Occupational Therapist, bringing
hope and support to those in need.
Nguyen Phuc Chuong

Fascinated by the mechanics of the world from a young age, Chuong found the perfect environment at ASRJC to fuel his passion for STEM. With access to advanced facilities like PlayPen and ElementzLab, he immersed himself in hands-on experiments and projects, deepening his understanding of complex scientific concepts. His journey was further enriched by the unwavering support of dedicated teachers, enthusiastic peers, and industry partners who nurtured his growth.
Chuong took a significant leap in his academic pursuits through the prestigious NUS Science Research Programme, where he worked on developing a self-driving vehicle using Deep Learning. Balancing this rigorous project with his studies and extracurricular commitments, he honed his skills in data analysis, computational modeling, and project management—essential qualities for navigating the fast-paced world of technology.
As Chairperson of the STEM CCA, Chuong played a pivotal role in guiding his peers through scientific research and communication. Under his leadership, the CCA’s mock research project presentations became a platform for members to refine their ideas, improve their presentation skills, and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Beyond research, Chuong’s proficiency in Mathematics and programming languages like Python and C++ enabled him to excel in cybersecurity challenges, particularly in cryptography and reverse engineering at Cyberthon 2024. His analytical mindset and coding expertise allowed him to break down complex problems and implement innovative solutions.
Looking ahead, Chuong is eager to further his studies in computer science
and artificial intelligence—fields he believes have the power to transform
society. With a relentless drive for innovation, he continues to engage
in cutting-edge projects, preparing himself to make meaningful contributions
to the future of technology.
Ng Ding Xun, Nantres

Nantres’ journey at ASRJC is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of a supportive community. Despite facing the challenges of selective mutism, he has thrived as a leader, innovator, and mentor, leaving a lasting impact on his peers.
As the Technology IC of the STEM CCA, Nantres played a pivotal role in organizing tech-related activities, inspiring juniors, and driving innovation. His contributions extended to prestigious events like the Elementz Fair and the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair, where he applied his skills in research and prototype design. In the ChemSoar Project, he collaborated with peers to develop an AI-integrated web app, showcasing his technical expertise and dedication to enhancing student learning.
Beyond his CCA commitments, Nantres led by example as a Class Leader, leveraging digital tools and written communication to ensure seamless collaboration with his classmates. Through perseverance and the unwavering encouragement of teachers and friends, he has navigated challenges with confidence and emerged as a role model for many.
With a deep passion for technology and problem-solving, Nantres aspires
to pursue a degree in Computer Science, eager to develop software that
makes a meaningful impact. His journey at ASRJC exemplifies how determination
and support can turn challenges into opportunities.
Sathiavageeswaran Sadhana

Sadhana’s journey at ASRJC reflects her dedication to community service, leadership, and passion for the Tamil language. As an EXCO member of the Community Champions Council (CCC), she led initiatives supporting the underprivileged, including volunteering at Allkin Singapore Student Care and Cheshire Home. She also played a key role in projects such as the Custodian Appreciation Project and the SG Caring Commuter Project, fostering gratitude and kindness within the school and public spaces. Beyond Singapore, she coordinated donation drives for victims of the 2023 Turkey earthquake.
Her commitment to student well-being was evident in her role as a Peer Support Leader (PSL), where she uplifted peers through PSL Radio and emotional support initiatives. Sadhana’s passion for Tamil language and culture flourished in the Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP), where she showcased her talents in AGNI, a large-scale programme organised as part of the National Tamil Language Festival for JC/MI students. Excelling as an actor, singer, and performer, she deepened her appreciation for her roots while strengthening bonds with like-minded peers.
Aspiring to be an educator, she gained hands-on experience in the ASR
Scholars Programme by tutoring primary school students. Her dedication
earned her the Singapore Silent Heroes (Student) Award 2024. She continues
to pursue her passion through the MOE JC Teaching Internship Programme
(TIP) and her internship at Spectra Secondary School as she prepares to
study Tamil Language and Literature at NTU-NIE.
Periyakkaruppan Seenivasan

Seenivasan embraced every opportunity to grow at ASRJC, demonstrating passion, perseverance, and a strong drive for self-improvement. With a deep appreciation for Tamil language and environmental studies, he has embraced diverse opportunities to develop as a leader and a well-rounded individual.
His love for the Tamil language and culture flourished through the Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP), where he overcame stage fear to perform traditional art forms like Kadhakaalachepam and Parai. As part of AGNI, a large-scale programme organised as part of the National Tamil Language Festival for JC/MI students, Seenivasan directed a short film for the first time—learning the intricacies of filmmaking while rallying his team towards a successful production. His experiences, including an immersion trip to Tamil Nadu, not only deepened his understanding of Tamil heritage but also strengthened his confidence in expressing his identity.
A passionate athlete, Seenivasan also served as Vice-Captain of the Hockey Team, leading his team to a hard-fought third-place finish in the National School Games. Balancing rigorous training with academics and leadership responsibilities, he demonstrated discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his team.
Seenivasan’s remarkable time management and dedication enabled him to excel across multiple domains, making significant strides in his academic journey while inspiring those around him.
Currently serving National Service, Seenivasan aspires to pursue a degree
in Environmental Studies at NUS, driven by a desire to address environmental
challenges and protect ecosystems.
Sharmaine Lim

Sharmaine’s journey at ASRJC has been one of growth, resilience, and passion. As a dedicated dancer and leader, she embraced opportunities to challenge herself, develop her skills, and inspire those around her.
Her love for dance flourished when she joined ASRJC’s Dance Society through Direct School Admission (DSA). She first showcased her talent at SYF 2023, where she overcame initial challenges to achieve Distinction with her team. Elected as Dance Society President in 2023, Sharmaine took on a pivotal role in planning and executing performances, most notably leading “Mechanical Reverie: Shades of Transition”, a showcase featuring both current members and alumni. From coordinating rehearsals to managing team dynamics, she worked tirelessly to ensure its success. Beyond college, she further honed her craft by choreographing original pieces, competing with her external studio, and attending open dance classes.
Balancing her leadership responsibilities, academic commitments, and external dance pursuits required discipline and perseverance. With strong time management and the support of her teachers, friends, and sister, Sharmaine navigated these challenges with determination.
Currently, she is spending her time traveling, volunteering, and deepening her knowledge of psychology through online courses. She plans to pursue a degree in psychology while continuing to dance—a passion that remains central to her identity.
